Southampton is a village in Suffolk County, New York, USA. The population was 3,965 at the 2000 census. The village is named after the Earl of Southampton. It is part of the summer colony known as The Hamptons.

The Village of Southampton is in the southeast part of the county in the Town of Southampton.

Southampton is a paradise for recreation lovers. The Atlantic Ocean beckons surfers, swimmers, and sports fisherman. The bays, islands, and inlets are perfect for boating, windsurfing, waterskiing, and fishing. The woodlands and marked open space trails offer residents and visitors many opportunities for hiking and nature study. In addition, many community parks of the state, county, town, and private club facilities offer golf, tennis, volleyball, horseback riding, camping, and much more.
